About Baked Oats
Baked oats is a traditional Amish dish. Unlike regular stove-top oatmeal, it is made in the oven and has a consistency similar to bread pudding. It is very adaptable and can be easily adjusted to suit any palate.
In this post, I share my insanely easy and cheap meal prep version of the dish!
What You Will Need
- (store-bought) apple sauce
- raisins
- rolled oats
- salt
- baking powder (optional)
- cinnamon (optional)
- walnuts (optional)
Since regular store-bought apple sauce is already sweetened, it isn’t necessary to add additional sweetener to the dish. You can, however, additionally sweeten your baked oats upon serving.
How To Make Apple Sauce Baked Oats
It literally doesn’t get easier than this: pour all the ingredients directly into a baking dish and give everything a good whisk. Neatly flatten the top and sprinkle some walnuts on top, if you desire.
