Medjool Dates

Medjool dates are the base of these protein balls! Fresh Medjool dates are soft and flavourful, making them a wonderful base for this date ball recipe.

If you don’t have access to Medjool dates, any other soft dates will work well too.

If you want to use dried dates, make sure to soak your dates in hot water for at least ten minutes, so they can soften a bit.

Crunchy Peanut Butter

The second ingredient for these protein balls is crunchy peanut butter. Not only will peanut butter help the balls stick together, but it is also high in protein! Two tablespoons of peanut butter contain 8g of protein. In comparison, 1/2 cup of beans contains 9g of protein.

Crunchy peanut butter adds a wonderful crunch to these protein balls!

Rolled Oats

Rolled oats make sure these protein balls have a bite to them!

Vanilla Protein Powder

To turn these balls into protein balls, we will be using some vegan vanilla protein powder to pimp this recipe.

How To Make Peanut Butter Date Protein Balls

1. Deseed And Chop The Dates

Start by removing the seed from the Medjool dates and chopping them into small pieces. Chopping the dates will allow you to easily whip up this recipe, without even needing a food processor.

2. Mix The Dates With The Rest Of The Ingredients

Add the chopped Medjool dates to a large mixing bowl, and add in all the other ingredients! Mix everything together with your hands until a “dough” is formed! The secret to combining all the ingredients well, is to knead the mixture well.

3. Time To Shape The Balls

Use your hands to shape the “dough” into balls!
